The Hungarian and Czech/Slovakian qualifiers for the V4 Future Sports Festival have come to an end, with eXtatus, Dark Tigers and GameAgents all securing spots at the Budapest event.
GameAgents, fielding former HellRaisers member Patrik "Zero" Žúdel and ex-Dead Pixels player Anders "pbD" Aidemark as stand-ins, justified their favourite status and finished in first place in the Hungarian qualifier after beating Pixel 2-0 in the final of this single-elimination bracket, which saw Hungarian/Danish mix Team123 crash out in the first round.
Meanwhile, eXtatus confirmed their credentials as one of the strongest teams in the Czech/Slovakian regional scene as they finished top two in the qualifier without dropping a single map along the way. From the opposite end of the bracket came Dark Tigers, who edged past Universe 2-1 before defeating David "KAPARZO" Lacina's Gravity on two maps to assure themselves of a top-two finish.
There is now just one spot up for grabs at the V4 Future Sports Festival, which will go to the winner of the Polish qualifier, featuring the likes of AGO, Kinguin and PRIDE.
With €500,000 (~$623,000) up for grabs, the V4 Future Sports Festival will run from March 23-25 at the BOK Hall indoor arena, in Budapest. The list of participants for the event currently looks as follows:
